SHIELD - What does it mean to you?

There have been a few SHIELD acronyms, pick your favorite.

SHIELD originally stood for -
Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage, Law-Enforcement Division.

Until 1991 when it was changed to -
Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Division.

The Marvel Movie Universe has its own version of SHIELD -
Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.

Something all three can agree on is a headquarters above all others. Literally.

The Helicarrier
It has crashed more than a few times, so a floating fortress above Manhattan might not be the best idea.

I have always liked the look of the SHIELD uniforms too.
Even they know that "red-shirting" is for expendable personnel. (thanks Star Trek)

Samuel L Jackson is fantastic as Nick Fury, but his comicbook counterpart is pretty bad-ass too.
Uhoh Nick, looks like you've been demoted to field agent. Better start using those LMDs again. I think the colorist should have used the uniform reference guide.

  1. Unfortunately Comic Book Nick was played by David Haselhoff in a tv movie. Did you ever see that?
